This is not one of those shiny covered books with big promises and confusing data. Nor do you have to eliminate your favorite snacks or an entire food group. It’s a book of guidelines and methodologies supported by research and written by qualified specialists in sports nutrition. And it’s an interesting read. Thanks for sharing with us you smart ladies.
4 Stars Annoying but helpful
This book has a lot of good information and is presented in a very clear and concise manner. It is worth reading. However, at times the book feels like an advertisement for PowerBar products. The authors also had the worst editors ever proofreading their book. If misspellings, poor grammar, and calculation errors in books really bother you I would recommend trying other material. There has to be close to an error per page. I’m exaggerating, but probably not by much.

Just as the subtitle suggests - this book really is a comprehensive guide to properly fueling training and competition! It lays out the basics of eating well and brings it to life with tips from professional athletes, an easy to follow meal plan, recipes and shopping lists. It helps to know that the authors are not only registered dietitians but serious athletes that have had to figure out how to fuel their own training. This book is super helpful for me as a dietitian working with groups and fielding sports nutrition questions and personally as a casual athlete. I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes. Buy it!
